SCINEi Future Leaders Essay Competition 2026
SCINEi is pleased to announce that applications are now open for the inaugural SCINEi Future Leaders Essay Competition 2026.
Beginning in Mokopane, Limpopo, this initiative provides learners with an opportunity to share their ideas, experiences, and vision for the future through the power of writing. More than a competition, it is a platform for listening to young voices and identifying future leaders who will help shape ethical, innovative, and resilient communities.
The competition is open to learners in Grades 7–12 who are living in or attending school in Mokopane, including learners from public schools, private schools, and homeschooling communities. Learners of all cultures, ethnicities, languages, and nationalities are encouraged to participate.
How Can Education, Mentorship and Artificial Intelligence Help Build a Better Future for Young People?
Learners are invited to submit an original essay of approximately 500 words, written in English, reflecting on their educational journey, the role of mentorship, their understanding of Artificial Intelligence, and their vision for the future.
The competition will recognise the Top 5 learners in each grade (Grades 7–12) with a SCINEi Future Leaders Certificate of Achievement and priority consideration for the inaugural SCINE
In addition, one SCINEi Future Leader Fellow will be selected from each grade. Each Fellow will have their essay published on the SCINEi website with full author credit, while their nominated teacher may be inducted into the SCINEi Hall of Inspiration, subject to the teacher's consent.
